• Numerous illnesses and death due to unintentional carbon monoxide(CO) poisoning 

• Lower level may cause symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, fatigue and headache 

• High level may cause unconsciousness, heart failure and death 

• Loss of electricity during ice storms can also easily lead to hypothermia 

• Pipes can freeze and regular fuel sources may be cut off 

• Bring down trees, electrical wires, telephone poles and lines and communication power 

• Small accumulations of ice may cause extreme hazards to motorists and pedestrians
